Pineapple and Turmeric Smoothie

Written by Amy Myers, MD

If you’ve been craving a tropical getaway lately, look no further! You may be as close as your freezer and countertops! Pineapple and Turmeric Smoothies are a fun, tropical way to boost your health. My version adds an extra special pizzazz. You’ll feel like you’re on vacation without even leaving the kitchen.

Do you want to know what my favorite part about this pineapple and turmeric smoothie is? This recipe includes a special ingredient with incredible health benefits. I’m talking about Liposomal Curcumin.

Liposomal Curcumin

What is Liposomal Curcumin, and how is it different from other curcumin supplements?

Curcumin supplements come in many forms. Think of all the liquids, capsules, and tablets you come across. The problem with these formulations is that your digestive tract starts breaking them down too soon. This means your body only uses a fraction of the nutrients available.

On the other hand, Liposomal Curcumin is the most bioavailable form of curcumin on the market. It’s formulated in such a way that maximizes your body’s ability to absorb and use it.

What is a liposome, you ask? A liposome is a tiny bubble filled with fluid. This bubble, otherwise called a vesicle, is made from the same material as a cell membrane. Different fluids travel through the body in these liposomal “carriers.”

In the case of curcumin, the liposome protects it as it travels through your digestive tract. This is important because it needs to arrive safely at its destination. So you see, liposomes make all the difference. Liposomal Curcumin is a far better way to take curcumin supplements.

Liposomal Curcumin supports a healthy inflammatory response. It also fights against free radical damage. My Liposomal Curcumin also has a zesty citrus flavor. Not only does it taste amazing, but it works wonders! It’s the perfect turmeric supplement for relieving occasional aches and pains caused. It also supports a healthy inflammatory response. Much of the aches and pains we feel stem from inflammation, gut, or immune issues.

Most turmeric supplements on the market don’t contain enough of the bioactive compounds. This limits all of the wonderful health benefits. Turmeric root is only 2-5% curcuminoids by weight. It’s also low in the essential oil compounds. My liquid Liposomal Curcumin is the world’s most absorbable turmeric supplement. It contains a potent 500mg of real, naturally extracted curcumin per serving.

Paleo Protein

Most smoothies don’t emphasize enough protein. Quality protein is critical to good health, so there’s an easy fix if you want to add more protein to your smoothie.

Try adding my Vanilla Bean Paleo Protein to your pineapple and turmeric smoothie. It’s a great way to give it an extra nutritional boost. My new and improved formula adds a smooth, creamy texture to this tropical recipe. Think of it like a piña colada without the alcohol!

This easy-to-mix powder supports healthy gut, skin, and hair. It contains high-quality, non-GMO, grass-fed beef collagen protein. It’s also made without gluten, dairy, or sugar, making it AIP, Keto, and Paleo-friendly.

A Word On Candida Overgrowth and SIBO

If you’re on a Candida Overgrowth or SIBOprotocol, you’re likely aware that you’ll need to avoid sugars for a while. This can get tricky, especially since pineapple has natural sugars in it.

One easy solution is to substitute the pineapple juice in this recipe for coconut milk. You’ll be able to bypass the extra sugar while still enjoying the tropical theme. Coconut milk also contains healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals.

Perfect Pairings

When mornings are hectic, you need quick breakfast options. My Paleo Breakfast Meal Prep combines a few simple ingredients to get you through your day. Pair this with the Pineapple and Turmeric Smoothie, and you get a sweet and savory experience!

Another perfect pairing is my Tropical Gluten Free Nut Free “Granola” Bars. Many following an anti-inflammatory diet struggle to find healthy, on-the-snacks they can take with them on the road. This easy snack takes only five minutes to whip up! It’s the perfect solution for giving you that much-needed afternoon pick-me-up

Smoothie Tips

Making the ideal smoothie can be simple, but a few tips can help you make it flawless every time.

First of all, be sure to use a quality blender. Dull blades or low watts can make it difficult to properly blend all your ingredients.

In order to get that thick, shake-like consistency, I recommend using frozen fruit instead of ice. This helps prevent watering the smoothie down. From here, you can slowly add in your liquids, making it thicker.

Maybe you’re in more of a slushie mood. If that’s you, try adding both ice and fresh fruit!

Keeping your smoothies cold is another challenge many smoothie lovers have. For this, I suggest you use a double-walled insulated thermos. These are designed to preserve both hot and cold temperatures. Make sure to look for BPA-free brands that are free of heavy metals. You can also pre-chill the thermos for added chill time!

Got leftovers? You can store them in nifty silicone ice cube molds. Many come with lids, making them ideal storage options without the harmful plastic.

This Pineapple and Turmeric Smoothie isn’t your ordinary blended breakfast. Along with the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of Liposomal Curcumin, you get superior gut healing benefits from The Myers Way® Vanilla Bean Paleo Protein. These ingredients are great in other recipes, too, so make sure to always have them on hand!

Grab a glass and get ready to enjoy this tasty, tropical smoothie loaded with protein, delicious flavor, and great health benefits!
